Limited Warranty for Used Engines | Limited Warranty for Rebuilt Engines

LIMITED WARRANTY FOR USED ENGINES

All imported engines are sold as longblock assembly only.
Attached parts and accessories must be taken off completely to get a bare longblock.

CNS Motors, Inc., (CNS) delivers the highest quality engines and transmissions available. CNS will warrant product if defect occurs or when excessive oil consumption occurs. When warranty is an issue, we have the best hassle-free warranty in the industry. Limited warranty terms and conditions as follows:
  1. Definitions;

    Used engines: Sold as long block only, identical replacement unit, tested and steam cleaned. A complete engine has accessories like alternator, starter, water pump, distributor, manifolds, carburetor, flywheel, brackets, oil pressure and water temperature sending units, and/or any others as they were imported from Japan. It is the buyer's responsibility to change over such accessories and emission control devices as necessary to comply with federal law administered by the Environmental Protection Agency. Applicable state laws may vary from state to state. Add-on accessories are specifically excluded from any warranty offered herein.

  2. Terms;

    :: Used engines 6 months or 6,000 miles whichever comes first from the date of purchase.
    :: Used transmissions 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first from the date of purchase.
    Warranty is non-transferable and is valid to the original owner. It terminates upon sale of vehicle.

  3. Repair or replacement;

    In case of mechanical defect, the buyer must notify CNS for instructions and authorization prior to making any repairs or replacements in order to keep valid warranty. Cost of parts will be reimbursed or parts will be supplied at our cost. However, if any repair exceeds fifty percent of the total value of the unit, the defective engine must be returned as sold, completely assembled with all add-on accessories attached. CNS will replace it with a good identical unit within 15 days after receiving notice from the buyer. CNS will repair or replace the defective unit. NO WARRANTY ON LABOR / NO WARRANTY ON TIMING BELT

  4. Refund;

    All monetary claims must be made in writing with reason stated before returning the item. There will be a 15% restocking charge for every good item returned.

  5. Standard;

    CNS shall, at its option, repair or replace the defective engine within the warranty term without charge to the buyer subject to the limitations listed herein.

  6. Limitations:

    The warranty is voided by:

    A. Misuses, negligence, alterations, accidents, or fire.
    B. Improper installation or repair.
    C. Use of the engine in commercial vehicles or competitive events.
    D. Failure to follow the recommenced maintenance requirements.
    E. Lack of lubrication and/or overheating.
    F. Any repair or replacement not authorized by CNS.
    G. Sale, installation, use or operation without the original emission control equipment transferred to the replacement engine.

    The following are at the expense and obligation of the buyer.

    A. Service adjustment, ignition, timing, tune-up, brake and clutch adjustments.
    B. Maintenance services, lubrication and fluids.
    C. Replacement of service items such as spark plugs, ignition points, gaskets and filters.
    D. Engine ignition electrical and fuel systems without limitation.
    E. Engine cooling system servicing and replacement of fan belts, hoses, coolant, or any parts or labor to increase cooling efficiency without limitation.

  7. Modifying or rendering inoperative any Emission Control Device, or any Act that contributes to the Violation of EPA requirements will void this warranty.

  8. Limited liability;

    A. CNS liability under this warranty is solely limited to the repair or replacement of defective used engines and defective parts on rebuilt engines. The labor required repairing an engine and/or removing it from a vehicle, and any other expenses relating to turnover, freight, handling, and other incidental charges for a defective unit are not reimbursable.
    B. CNS shall not be liable for nay consequential, incidental, or special damages, or for nay services not expressly provided herein relating to or arising from used engines sold by CNS.

  9. LIMITED WARRANTY;

    This warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties of CNS. Any implied warranty is limited in duration to the duration of this written warranty. CNS does not assume or authorize any distributor, dealer, agent or employee to enlarge or extend this warranty, or to assume any other obligations on its behalf.

    A. Some states do not allow any limitations on the duration of an implied warranty so the above may not be applicable (California Civil Code ss 1793).
    B. Other legal rights. This warranty specifies the buyer's legal rights. The buyer may also have other rights that vary from state to state. If the buyer and CNS disagree over either's performance under the terms of this warranty the buyer may submit the matter for resolution to arbitration. The buyer is required to submit any dispute for resolution under this paragraph before pursuing any legal remedies to which he or she may be entitled.
    C. CNS reserves the right to make changes in its products without incurring any obligations to similarity after products previously purchased.
    D. The buyer of this product in California has the right to have this product serviced or repaired during the warranty period. The warranty period will be extended for the number of whole days that the product has been out of the buyer's hands for warranty repairs. If a defect exists within the warranty period, the warranty will not expire until the defect has been fixed. If the defect has not been fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, the buyer may return this product for replacement or refund subject, in either case, to the deduction of a reasonable charge for usage. At this time, extension does not affect the protections or remedies the buyer has under other laws.
    E. This warranty does not apply to rotary engines or high performance engines designed or used for competition purposes.
    F. Any repair or replacement not authorized by CNS.
    G. Sale, installation, use or operation without the original emission control equipment transferred to the replacement engine.

    Note: Vehicle with non-operative or defective odometer will be considered to have coverage rate of 1,500 miles per month.




LIMITED WARRANTY FOR REBUILT ENGINES

  1. Definitions;

    Rebuilt engines: sold as a rebuilt engine assembly such as a basic block, cylinder head and internal components, or short block such as a basic block and internal components only.

  2. Terms;

    Rebuilt engines: 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first from the date of purchase.

  3. Authorized repair or replacement;

    In case of mechanical defect, the buyer must notify CNS for instructions and authorization prior to making any repairs or replacements in order to keep valid warranty. Cost of parts will be reimbursed or parts will be supplied at our cost. However, if any repair exceeds fifty percent of the total value of the unit, the defective engine must be returned. CNS will replace it with a good identical unit. Payment will not be made for any unauthorized repair and/or replacements.

  5. Standard;

  6. Limitations;

    This warranty applies only to the engine assembly or short block and internal components of the engine. The warranty is voided by

    A. Misuses, negligence, alterations, accidents, or fire.
    B. Improper installation or repair.
    C. Use of the engine in commercial vehicles or competitive events.
    D. Failure to follow the recommenced maintenance requirements.
    E. Lack of lubrication and/or overheating.
    F. Any repair or replacement not authorized by CNS.
    G. Sale, installation, use or operation without the original emission control equipment transferred to the replacement engine.

  7. Additional limitations and owner/user obligations

    A. Upon engine start up, cylinder head must be retorqued, and engine valves must be readjusted to manufacturer's specifications after engine reaches normal operating temperature. Abrupt acceleration while engine is cool must be avoided before the first 500 miles. Failure to perform these operations voids warranty.
    B. In addition to valve readjustment and cylinder head retorque, oil and oil filter must be changed after the first 500 miles.

  8. Limited liability

    A. CNS liability under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement of defective parts. The labor required to repair an engine and/or to remove it from a vehicle and any other expenses relating to turnover, freight handling, and any other incidental charges are not reimbursable.
    B. CNS shall not be liable for any consequential, incidental or special damages, or for any services not expressly provided herein relating to or arising from engines sold by CNS.

  9. Limited warranty

    This warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties of CNS implied warranty is limited in duration to the duration of this written warranty.

  10. Labor claims

    It is possible to insure the engine at the customer's own charge, if requested.
    Note: Vehicle with non-operative or defective odometer will be considered to have coverage rate of 1500 miles per month.
